The George Was on the front of The Good Pub Guide in 2008. Parts date back to the 1360s.

The Rising Sun (01249 730363) Towards the top of Bowden Hill. Great views from the garden. We have had a couple of very good meals here.
The Methuen Arms recently refurbished Georgian Hotel at the end of the High Street. We can personally recommend the lunch and dinner menus.
The Flemish Weaver the pub that served as The Red Lion in series 1 of Poldark has been beautifully refurbished.
