LACOCK

Lacock is so beautiful that it is hardly surprising that it is often used in TV and film productions.

Dr. Thorne

the Trollope novel, adapted by Julian Fellowes, and starring Tom Hollander was filmed in Lacock.

Downton Abbey

was filmed in the village in March 2015. Here are some shots we took. The cattle market area before filming. Some Extras with Jane. The cattle market with Extras during rehearsal. Lady Mary. Downton Abbey the Movie also used the village in 2018 for some scenes.

Richard III

Benedict Cumberbatch  has been fiming at The Abbey . He is Richard III in BBC' s upcoming  productions of Henry V1 and Richard III

Wolf Hall

Also recently filmed at the Abbey and also at Great Chalfield Manor was the BBC production of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall which was screened in 2015 starring Damian Lewis and Mark Rylance.

Cranford

The filming of Cranford took over the village for a couple of weeks and Derek was an extra!!

Pride and Prejudice

Lacock became Meriton for the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth.

Emma

and another BBC adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma was also filmed here.

Harry Potter

The first two Harry Potter films had scenes in Lacock Abbey but the the village was almost locked down with security guards only letting residents in and out when Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was shot in 2007.

Other films recorded in Lacock include The Other Boleyn Girl and Wolf Man

CORSHAM

Poldark

The new BBC series of Poldark was filmed in Corsham High Street during May 2014.

Mr Whicher

The Suspicions of Mr Whicher was filmed in Corsham in May 2014 for ITV.

CASTLE COMBE

is very pretty and most recently Stardust and War Horse have been filmed there

GREAT CHALFIELD

The National Trust house at GREAT CHALFIELD is set to see an increase in visitors as the BBC production of Wolf Hall was filmed there in 2014.
