Lacock is so beautiful that it is hardly surprising that it is often used in TV and film productions.
the Trollope novel, adapted by Julian Fellowes, and starring Tom Hollander was filmed in Lacock.
was filmed in the village in March 2015. Here are some shots we took. The cattle market area before filming. Some Extras with Jane. The cattle market with Extras during rehearsal. Lady Mary. Downton Abbey the Movie also used the village in 2018 for some scenes.
Benedict Cumberbatch has been fiming at The Abbey . He is Richard III in BBC' s upcoming productions of Henry V1 and Richard III
Also recently filmed at the Abbey and also at Great Chalfield Manor was the BBC production of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall which was screened in 2015 starring Damian Lewis and Mark Rylance.
The filming of Cranford took over the village for a couple of weeks and Derek was an extra!!
Lacock became Meriton for the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth.
and another BBC adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma was also filmed here.
The first two Harry Potter films had scenes in Lacock Abbey but the the village was almost locked down with security guards only letting residents in and out when Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was shot in 2007.
