The Lacock area is great for walking and cycling. There are rivers, brooks, canals and disused railway lines for walks on the level. There are hills for superb views. Downland for unobscured views and woods and forests for tranquility. We supply a book of local walks in the cottages but have found the Walkers Web to be a good source of walks as is Walking in Wiltshire. If you need any walks printed out when you are here - just ask.
There are also many good routes for cycling around here. Some with significant hills and plenty without. You can have a gentle pedal through the local villages or have a day out cycling to Avebury or along the Kennet and Avon Canal. Derek has extensive knowledge and will help you out in finding your best route - he can also supply you with a bike which is half price (£7/day) for guests.
History on your Handlebars arranges cycle touring and can supply routes for great country rides.
